Lewis Hatton commits for 2027 season

Rochdale Hornets forward Lewis Hatton has agreed a new one-year deal which will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.
Hatton joined from Keighley Cougars ahead of the 2026 campaign and has gone on to feature regularly in Hornets colours.
Making 16 appearances in all competitions, 14 of which have come off the bench, Hatton has proven to be a dependable member of the squad.
His experience at this level has been invaluable following the merger of the Betfred Championship and League One competitions, and we are pleased to see him remain with the club beyond the end of the current season.
“I’m really happy to have signed an extension at Rochdale,” he said.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far, and with the group of players and staff we’ve got, it was an easy decision to stay.
“We’re building something good as a group, and we want to be competing with the top half of this league. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together next season, but the focus remains on how we finish this year.
“A big thank you to Gary Thornton, Andy Mazey and the board for the opportunity to stay.”
Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “This is another important piece of business, and I’m absolutely delighted to have extended Hatto’s contract until the end of 2027.
“He’s an important leader by action within the group. His powerful and aggressive nature really gets us on the front foot when we need it, and his consistency and experience is invaluable.
“He’s also a good, honest bloke, and a good professional who sets the kind of standards we need if we are to build on this season and improve the team in 2027.”
