By Road:

Exit the M62 at junction 20 and follow signs for Rochdale along the A627(M). At the first set of traffic lights, bear left, past B&Q on your right-hand side, and follow this road until the next set of traffic lights. Here, you need to be in the 2nd of four lanes, heading straight across (Tesco is on your left-hand side). Follow this road until the next set of traffic lights, remaining in the left-hand lane to go straight across (the Cemetery pub is diagonally opposite on the right-hand side). Continue along this road and the stadium is on your right-hand side after approximately half a mile.

Parking at the Stadium for Rugby Matchdays is available - there will be a £4 charge per car and £10 per minibus or coach upon entering the Stadium.

By Train:

The ground is approximately 3 miles from the train station, so it is recommended that you take a taxi. However, if you would prefer to walk, the quickest route, with the station behind you, is to go straight ahead across the roundabout onto Maclure Road. After 300 yards, you'll reach a T-junction with Halfords on your right. Turn left into Drake Street. After half a mile, turn right at the traffic lights onto the A58 dual carriageway and head towards the town centre. After half a mile, you'll come to a major traffic junction with two 'spire' sculptures. Cross the road in the direction of Asda - this is Dane Street, Follow Dane Street round past Asda until you reach a set of traffic lights (Bury Road on your left). Follow the road straight on - this is Mellor Street - for half a mile until you reach a mini-roundabout. Just after the mini-roundabout, the road forks. Take the left turn onto Edenfield Road. After 100 yards turn left onto Willbutts Lane and go up the hill. The ground is 150 yards on your left.

Rochdale Hornets look forward to welcoming all supporters to Spotland on matchdays.

In order to make your trip as enjoyable as possible we summarise some key points below:

Turnstiles & Parking

Entry is via the turnstiles information located on your ticket. Please proceed directly to the turnstile on arrival and be aware of the spectators code of conduct. We no longer operate  the ‘swaps programme’ allowing junior season ticket holders to gain entry for free with their membership cards.

NB. Hornets Junior season cards are free up until the May 8th 2021 but must be purchased in with a full paying Adult or Concession.

Those who have pre-purchased tickets for collect may collect from the ticket office.

Ample car parking is available at the stadium (£4 per car/£10 minibus) on a first come first serve basis. Please be aware that traffic enforcement officers do work weekends and parking in the coned side streets, in resident areas and on double yellow lines may result in parking fines issued by the local Council. Blue badge holders can park for free.

In 2021 parking restrictions may be enforced, either reducing or making the parking unavailable. Please keep checking on the website for more information. If you require disability parking you should contact the office for further details.

Lounge and Bars

In 2021 there will be limited hospitality and refreshments. All refreshment kiosks are easily identifiable when arriving at the ground. Hospitality may only be available in line with Government Guidelines.

The main lounge inside Spotland Stadium is restricted to hospitality, sponsors and club guests only. We may be able to open the lounge at Full Time but due to covid restrictions this is currently not available for the 2021 season until such time that social distance measures are removed.

The Crown Bar lounge with its dedicated bar and food counter is only available to box holders, executives, sponsors & club guests.

Food and Dining

Those wishing to purchase food or hot and cold drinks may do so at the Quirky Catering van located next to the Dale bar.

The Cookson lounge will only sell food to those with gold passes and wristbands.

Dining is available on match days on advanced bookings only and interested supporters should contact the office to make a booking. The cost of hospitality and dining is priced at £45.00 per person or £25.00 per person as a season ticket upgrade

Away supporters who wish to eat/drink before coming to the stadium are recommended to try The Baum or The Flying Horse- both pubs offer a wide choice of real ales, quality food and are in the town centre- a short distance from the ground.

The clubs official catering partner, the Quirky Catering Co, will offer hot food in Cookson Lounge, Main Lounge and on the catering van.

The smoking and vaping area is located near the turnstiles on the inside of the stadium. Please note there is no re-entry to the Stadium once you have left

Everyone at Rochdale Hornets wishes you a safe trip and if you have any queries and can’t find the answer on this website, please contact us on twitter @RochdaleHornets or via

NB. Please note that the director’s box (located to the left and right of the press box) is strictly reserved for home and away directors, life members, match sponsors and guests of the board. Thank you for your understanding
