Sports Physiotherapist

Reporting to: Head Coach

Responsible for: Medical department of 1st team squad

Job Purpose: Sports Physiotherapist - Rochdale Hornets Rugby League Football Club

• To lead in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of all first team players, producing

injury rehabilitation programmes for all players.

• Organise, develop, and implement a comprehensive movement screening assessment for all

first team players and based upon the movement assessment findings, provide physical

improvement stretch and strengthening exercises.

• Support S&C coach on a strength and conditioning programme.

• Lead in the education of all players in terms of injury prevention, injury care, healthy

lifestyles, and drug awareness.

• Test players through Return to Train procedures prior to resuming full training.

• Measure and record changes in at risk players through testing.

• Provide reports on player injuries and progress on recovery programmes including an update

on injuries after each match and training session.

• Supervise, assist, and educate and coordinate trainee sports therapist in any relevant

treatment matters. Organise and coordinate sports massage students.

• Lead the delivery of early, mid, and end stage rehabilitation/conditioning sessions on the

grass and in the gym.

• Cover all first team matches.

• Ensure the management of injuries effectively meets its commitments to the players,

coaches, and senior management through the keeping of clinical audits and accurate

documentation.

• To liaise with external organisations and to book all scans, consultations, operations, and

physio supplies.

• Ensure all medical equipment and procedures are regularly reviewed and maintained.

• Produce and maintain emergency action plans and department procedures for the training

ground and on match days alongside the Club Doctor.

Essential


• BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy or above.
• RFL pitchside certificate (IMMOFP) or equivalent. IMMOFP course can be provided if suitably
qualified.
• Excellent written, numeracy, verbal, and communication skills

Mens 1st Team Assistant Coach

Reporting to: Head Coach

Responsible for: Coaching and assisting the Head Coach

 

Part Time: 2022

 

Job Purpose: To act effectively as Assistant Coach to Rochdale Hornets Rugby League Football Club 1st team

 

  • To work with the Head Coach to agree all planning and preparation for the squad
  • To assist with the management of the 1st team squad, playing and training programme
  • Plan, implement and review all coaching delivery using relevant session plans and video analytics to support player development.
  • Support one to one reviews of all players within the 1st team squad.
  • Support squad selection process in line with Head Coaches playing strategy
  • Contribute to a scouting network or partnerships that provides opportunities to local talent. 
  • To always enforce and implement the club’s philosophy and values
  • Support and implement the coaching plan 
  • To work effectively with other assistant coaches and support staff whilst monitoring and reviewing as necessary
  • Ensure appropriate codes of conduct are followed by staff and player alike
  • Remain aware and take responsibility for player’s performance, fitness and welfare
  • Carry out all the duties and responsibilities which may reasonably be required to deliver the services of player development to the best of his ability

Business Development Director

Role: Business Development Director – Rochdale Hornets Sporting Foundation 

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer / Board of Trustees

Responsible for: Investment, management, support coaching staff. 

Hour of Work: 37.5 Hours - Flexible working + weekends and evening commitments when required

Full Time: Salary: OTE of £30k+

Description of Role

Rochdale Hornet’s Sporting Foundation are looking to recruit a confident, innovative, and proactive individual that will drive funding and investment into the charity. You will focus on income generation through commercial contracts, grants, fundraising, donations, and sponsorships to help grow the charity.

You will report to the Rochdale Hornets CEO and to the Foundations Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving effective partnerships with funders, commissioners, and commercial partners. Previous experience in a business development role will assist in the quality assurance of programme delivery, measuring impact and securing new funding. 

Key Responsibilities 

·       Take a leading role in the procuring of investment from a range of local, regional, and national investment organisations, which places Hornets Foundation in the most prominent position possible to receive investment and deliver high value, high impact programmes. 

·       To be responsible for identifying and securing funding opportunities on a local, regional and national scale.

·       To generate new income streams from corporate relationships, partnerships, patrons and social investment.

·       Be a passionate leader and driver of change for Hornets Foundation alongside the point of contact for strategic partnerships in private, public and community sector.

·       Position Hornets Foundation effectively across the private and third-party sector, ensuring that the Foundation is prominently placed to receive investment in line with charities development and delivery strategy.

·       Support the ongoing development of Hornets Foundation income and investment strategy, ensuring that the Foundation is procuring suitable levels of investment to both achieve and exceed its operational expectations. 

·       Work with partners to ensure that Hornets Foundation delivery themes and delivery programmes are aligned to national, regional and local insight.

·       Develop positive engagement, relationships and partnerships with commercial organization.

·       To actively raise the overall profile of the Foundation to the corporate sector, through attendance and networking and business events. 

·       To enhance and build relationships with key public sector bodies, including Public Health commissioners, Housing Associations, and local Clinical Commissioning Groups

·       To ensure projects are commissioning ready, which may include data analysis leading to the development and submission of comprehensive funding applications.

·       Complete tenders and bid writing, including use of UK Government DPS systems.

·       Work collaboratively with stakeholders and partners in order to design, develop and deliver fundraising events such as; Auctions, community fundraisers, Gala Dinners. 

·       Develop and support new innovative opportunities to drive revenue into the Foundation from various stakeholders and investors.

 

Additional Responsibilities 

  • Additional work for the Rochdale Hornets Foundation as requested. 
  • Serving the Board of Trustees, and in consultation with the Chair, ensure that items requiring consideration of the Board are placed on the agenda of their meetings as appropriate. 
  • To report to the Board as and when invited regarding the progress of the Foundations work, together with other matters which are relevant to the Board of Trustees.

Person Specifications

Essential

  • At least five years’ experience in a fundraising and business development role.
  • Previous experience of successfully securing funds through commercial, fundraising and funding avenues.
  • Experience of working in or with a corporate business. A great candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally in a business environment to influence a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience of leading strategic planning and implantation with success. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident presenting to large, senior audiences
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic team player who can also work autonomously.
  • Educated to degree level in Sport, Business or an associated program of study or experience.
  • An up-to-date knowledge of third sector and a proven track record of income generation in 3rd sector. 
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess performance and identify improvements

Retail Assistant

Rochdale Hornets is recruiting for a Retail Assistant on a match day based at the Crown Oil Arena reporting directly to the CEO.

The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day running of the retail operation for carrying out essential tasks within the store whilst providing excellent customer service.

Working hours: 4-6 hours per match-day working EVERY home match [including evening, weekend and bank-holidays].

You will:

  • Assist fans instore whilst providing information on what’s available.
  • Enhance and maintain the brand and reputation of Rochdale Hornets by providing outstanding customer service.
  • Identify upselling opportunities with an in-depth knowledge of merchandise.
  • Ensure the Hornets store is fully stocked with Hornets merchandise, maintaining a clean and spacious shop floor.
  • Liaise with the Supro Sports Management team to carry out tasks before, during and after a match.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service at all times via all platforms.
  • Be confident and prepared to offer alternative options to possible out of stock items.
  • Ensure all monies are handled with the upmost accuracy and honesty.
  • Be aware of upcoming fixtures and events to be able to inform fans and increase footfall for future events.
  • Provide ideas and initiatives to enhance the fan experience when visiting the shop.
  • Work confidently within a busy and fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain clean and effective displays in and around the shop.

Club Mascot

The purpose of the role is to proactively engage with supporters; making people smile with your energy and passion. Ensuring supporters leave remembering a remarkable day.

Working hours: 4-6 hours per match-day working EVERY home match [including evening, weekend and bank-holidays].

You will:

  • Have experience of working with children, ideally within a performance’ type role.
  • Be available to work all home games [between 4-6 hours per match]
  • Be the spirit of the team and have the ability to engage with fans of all ages.
  • Act as a Hornets ambassador meeting and greeting fans.
  • Entertain supporters pre-match and during half-time.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience of working with children.
  • Be confident in engaging with supporters of all ages and backgrounds positively and proactively.
  • Have confidence in performing to a public audience.
  • Be reliable and committed to working all home fixtures.
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative.

This includes, the hospitality areas as well as the on field spaces.
