MOMENT OF THE DECADE - 2013 PLAY OFF SERIES

THE 2013 PLAY OFF CAMPAIGN AND PROMOTION IS YOUR FIRST MOMENT OF THE DECADE!

Hornets did it tough on the route to the play-off final in 2013. 

Their league standing set up a meeting with London Skolars at Spotland which provided a great test.

A last-minute score from Dave Llewellyn levelled the scores, before a Paul Crook conversion snatched the win. 

In the semi-final Hornets faced local rivals, Oldham with Crook again the difference. The Ginger General found two 40/20’s, kicked three from three conversions and added a penalty goal before a last-minute drop goal sealed the win. 

Hornets would eventually play Oldham again in the final where they triumphed 18-32.

With the scores locked at 12-12 at half time thanks, to tries from Dave Llewellyn and Danny Davies, Hornets put their foot on the gas after the break with Dave Hull, John Cookson and Wayne English weighing in with tries to hand Hornets their first silverware in 96 years.
