Molly Williams re-signs for Hornets Women for 2026

Rochdale Hornets Women have announced the re-signing of outside back Molly Williams for the 2026 season.
The 21-year-old outside back re-signs for Rochdale Hornets after a successful season during our promotion year.
“I’m so excited for the 2026 season with the girls. Last season we absolutely smashed it, and I’m so proud to have been a part of everything we achieved together," she said.
"I feel like my confidence and skill improved a lot during the last season with the help from coaches Ben Bird and Rob Rigby, as well as the encouragement from the girls on the pitch. I can't wait to get stuck into this season!
"The effort that is put in by Ben and Rob is unmatched - our biggest supporters, both on and off the pitch.
"I had a really challenging year personally last year, and the girls, coaches, and all the staff don’t truly understand how much they helped me through it. I can't thank them all enough. The support, belief and togetherness meant everything.
"I can’t wait to get started again, especially playing alongside some of our exciting new recruits and seeing what this season brings for us. Here’s to another big year ahead."
Women's head coach Ben Bird said: “At the Hornets, we have an impressive group of young exciting players with a huge future in the game.
"Molly is one of that group. As with everyone, confidence is key, and we've seen over the last year or so that Molly, with a bit of self-belief, can be a real problem for opposing teams.
"Able to play as a winger or centre, she's been a prominent face in our impressive backline, but it's her aggressive defence that means she fits right in to what we're doing.
"I feel like Molly only last year started to appreciate what she's capable of, and I expect this year she's really going to make massive steps.”
