Directions to Spotland Stadium
Exit the M62 at junction 20 and follow signs for Rochdale along the A627(M). At the first set of traffic lights, bear left, past B&Q on your right-hand side, and follow this road until the next set of traffic lights. Here, you need to be in the 2nd of four lanes, heading straight across (Tesco is on your left-hand side). Follow this road until the next set of traffic lights, remaining in the left-hand lane to go straight across (the Cemetery pub is diagonally opposite on the right-hand side). Continue along this road and the stadium is on your right-hand side after approximately half a mile.
Parking at the Stadium for Rugby Matchdays is available - there will be a £4 charge per car and £10 per minibus or coach upon entering the Stadium.
The ground is approximately 3 miles from the train station, so it is recommended that you take a taxi. However, if you would prefer to walk, the quickest route, with the station behind you, is to go straight ahead across the roundabout onto Maclure Road. After 300 yards, you'll reach a T-junction with Halfords on your right. Turn left into Drake Street. After half a mile, turn right at the traffic lights onto the A58 dual carriageway and head towards the town centre. After half a mile, you'll come to a major traffic junction with two 'spire' sculptures. Cross the road in the direction of Asda - this is Dane Street, Follow Dane Street round past Asda until you reach a set of traffic lights (Bury Road on your left). Follow the road straight on - this is Mellor Street - for half a mile until you reach a mini-roundabout. Just after the mini-roundabout, the road forks. Take the left turn onto Edenfield Road. After 100 yards turn left onto Willbutts Lane and go up the hill. The ground is 150 yards on your left.
MATCH DAY INFORMATION
Rochdale Hornets look forward to welcoming all supporters to Spotland on matchdays.
In order to make your trip as enjoyable as possible we summarise some key points below:
Turnstiles & Parking
Entry is via the turnstiles located nearest the car park and costs £18 adults, £15 concessions (over 65, NUS, armed forces personnel) and £5 under 16s. We also operate the ‘swaps programme’ allowing junior season ticket holders to gain entry for free with their membership cards.
NB. Hornets Junior season tickets are free to purchase for 2019 but must be purchased in advance of game day.
Those who have pre-purchased tickets can collect from the shop (if they haven’t already) and entry is via the same turnstiles.
Ample car parking is available at the stadium (£4 per car/£10 minibus) and is first come, first served for non-pass holders. Please be aware that traffic enforcement officers do work weekends and parking in the coned side streets, in resident areas and on double yellow lines may result in parking fines issued by the local Council. Blue badge holders can park for free.
Car Park Season pass holders will now have their passes for entry (if you don’t have your pass you will be required to pay the £4 entry which will be refunded at the discretion of the Hornets office staff) and anyone wishing to purchase a season pass can do so on for £50 from the shop with that days £4 refunded. We advise all pass holders to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Lounge and Bars
In 2019 the Dale bar will be open to all home and away fans, providing refreshment throughout the day. Simply gain admission via the turnstiles and access this bar which is situated to the right of the turnstiles when you arrive.
The main lounge inside Spotland Stadium is open to all fan’s pre-game (expect in exception circumstances when we are busy with hospitality. The club will notify supporters in this event). The lounge will be open to all fans from 2pm, including half time and after the game. You can access the lounge by going through the turnstiles and using the door situated at the back of the main stand. Post-match presentations will take place in the main lounge and are open to all fans.
The Cookson lounge with its dedicated bar and food counter is only available to box holders, executives, sponsors & 100 club members. Gold pass and wrist band holders will be able to access both lounges, but the Cookson Lounge is reserved for gold card and gold band holders.
Food and Dining
Those wishing to purchase food or hot and cold drinks may do so at the Quirky Catering van located next to the Dale bar.
The Cookson lounge will only sell food to those with gold passes and wristbands.
Dining is available on match days on advanced bookings only and interested supporters should contact the office to make a booking. The cost of hospitality and dining is priced at £35.00 per person or £20.00 per person as a season ticket upgrade
Away supporters who wish to eat/drink before coming to the stadium are recommended to try The Baum or The Flying Horse- both pubs offer a wide choice of real ales, quality food and are in the town centre- a short distance from the ground.
The clubs official catering partner, the Quirky Catering Co, will offer hot food in Cookson Lounge, Main Lounge and on the catering van.
The smoking and vaping area is located near the turnstiles on the inside of the stadium. Please note there is no re-entry to the Stadium once you have left
Everyone at Rochdale Hornets wishes you a safe trip and if you have any queries and can’t find the answer on this website, please contact us on twitter @RochdaleHornets or via email@example.com
NB. Please note that the director’s box (located to the left and right of the press box) is strictly reserved for home and away directors, life members, match sponsors and guests of the board. Thank you for your understanding
