Assistant coach Terry Whaley to complete challenge today

Terry Whaley will complete his running challenge today at the Crown Oil Arena in support of Freddie Lowe's family and Young Lives vs Cancer.
Freddie’s cancer treatment journey started November 2020. Diagnosed with a cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of nasal tumour, occurring only in 60 children in the UK per year, Freddie had chemotherapy at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, and proton radiotherapy at the Christies
The first treatment was very successful, and scan results were the best that the family and Friends could have hoped for before a relapse on Father’s Day this year.
Freddie spent his final six weeks on PICU.
Freddie’s dad has described Freddie as the most beautiful, super strong little boy, who had so much love for everybody and everything. He loved dinosaurs and running the best. Chris did try to get to Freddie into rugby as well.
Freddie told the nurses in hospital, “My dad goes watching Rochdale Hornets, but they never win." However, at this point in time unbeknown to Freddie, the club had won three games on the bounce. Some would say a lucky omen!
Freddie was an absolute fighter.
Freddie showed and demonstrated absolute courage and strength.
Freddie has made both Chris and Hazel the proudest parents ever.
His bravery to just keep smiling throughout his challenges has been unbelievable, and he would always reassure mum and dad with that little thumbs up.
Freddie will be someone that Chris and Hazel will always look up to and turn to for strength. “If Freddie can, I can, WE can."
Chris wished to be quoted as saying, “Freddie is my son, but also a warrior that people can look up to and use the strengths that Freddie has demonstrated during his challenges to overcome their own adversities, I am sure that people from all walks of life with be inspired when they understand and see #thumbsupforfreddie."
Terry is a shining example of someone using what Freddie has left for us all to inspire and push people to better and greater things. Both Chris and Hazel would like to personally thank Terry for his commitment and focus over the last 10 days in completing his challenge of “10k for 10 days” and raising justifiable awareness and acknowledge of Freddie.
