Dan Nixon has joined on dual-registration

Rochdale Hornets is delighted to announce the signing of Dan Nixon on dual-registration with amateur side Oldham St Annes. 

Nixon, 17, is currently a student at Hopwood Hall Rugby Academy and is studying BTEC in sports science.

The utility back features for Oldham St Anne’s under 18s, and has played in the first team.

"It is a great opportunity for me as I'm young and it's amazing to be training with such great players," said Nixon.

"Matt is a great coach and has taught me a great deal about the beautiful game.

"The players and coaching staff are second to none and I’m massively proud to be a part of a fantastic club with such a loyal fan base. I am ready for a powerful season."

Head coach Matt Calland added: "Dan is a real pleasure to coach and has shown a great attitude in training." 

"I am really looking forward to developing his skill set. He is very tough and a local lad, so fits the bill for what we are trying to create at the club."
