Front-rower Peter Scott completes Hornets move

Prop forward Peter Scott has joined Rochdale Hornets on a one-year deal ahead of the 2027 season.

A strong middle unit, Scott joins the club following an 18-month spell with Leigh Leopards’ reserve side. 

He spent time in the youth system at Warrington Wolves, where he came through alongside the likes of Leon Hayes, Jake Thewlis and Luke Thomas.

Featuring for Warrington at academy and reserve grade, Scott went on to enjoy a stint with Bradford Bulls in 2025 before stepping away from the game temporarily. 

The 21-year-old has reignited his passion for the sport over the past 18 months playing under Stuart Littler at Leigh, and will now make the move to the Betfred Championship. 

“I’m very happy and excited to join the club, and grateful for the opportunity given to me by Andy Mazey and Gary Thornton,” he said. 

“The move felt right, to join a team like Rochdale and to get some good experience at Championship level. 

“I’m looking forward to what’s to come, and ready to get stuck in with the team and coaches for the season and give my best.”

Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: "Peter is a big forward with good hands, and is very well schooled from his time in the Warrington system.

“Gary Thornton and I were both really impressed by him and his attitude when we met.

“We are delighted that, like TJ Boyd last year, Peter has chosen Rochdale as his destination to come and have a crack at Championship rugby league. I am thrilled to welcome him into the Hornets family."
