Duo join Hornets on short-term loan deals

Rochdale Hornets have bolstered their squad ahead of Sunday's Betfred Championship fixture against Keighley Cougars, bringing in two new faces on loan.
Versatile centre Kieran Taylor has joined the club on a one-month loan, while young centre/back-rower Jonny Vaughan has arrived at the club on a one-week loan from Betfred Super League side Wigan Warriors.
Taylor, who joined the Vikings during the off-season, had previously spent three years at North Wales Crusaders after rising up from the amateur ranks, where he represented Orrell St James.
Featuring 21 times for North Wales during their Betfred League 1 title-winning season in 2025, Taylor has since made his competitive Widnes debut in the Betfred Challenge Cup last month.
Vaughan, meanwhile, swapped St Helens for Wigan back in September, penning a four-year deal with the Cherry-and-Whites.
He already has 19 Super League appearances to his name from his time at Salford and St Helens.
Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: "We've had a pretty intense start to the year and a number of unfortunate injuries, along with the usual wear and tear.
“I'm therefore delighted we have been able to strengthen the group ahead of this weekend with two quality athletes and players.
“Gary has admired Keiran while playing against us in recent seasons, and thanks to Allan Coleman and the Widnes club, we've been able to bring him in on loan.
“Jonny is a player who Wigan have just acquired from St Helens and has plenty of Super League appearances to his name already.
“He has a bright future ahead of him, so it's a real coup to get him on loan. Our thanks go to Kris Radlinski, Matt Peet and John Duffy over at Wigan."
