Ben Will commits to Hornets for 2026

Rochdale Hornets outside back Ben Will has agreed a new one-year deal with the club ahead of the 2026 season.

The former St Helens youngster joined the club last October and made nine appearances during his debut season, scoring five tries.

Prior to his arrival at the Crown Oil Arena, Will enjoyed success as part of St Helens’ youth setup, featuring for their Under 18s, Under 19s and reserve team.

During the 2023 campaign, while playing for Saints' reserves, he averaged nearly a try per game.

While the young outside back has missed part of his debut season due to a hamstring injury, we look forward to seeing him fulfil his potential ahead of the new-look second-tier competition's return in 2026.

On re-signing with the club, Will said: "It was an obvious decision for me. The team is building something big for next year and the fans are always behind you, so running out at the Crown Oil Arena is always a good experience.

"I'm just focusing on getting back fit and so I can be a part of that."

Rochdale Hornets head coach Gary Thornton said: "I'm delighted to have Ben on board for another year.

"This year, he has shown his potential since joining from St Helens' academy system and stepping up to play League One rugby.

"Ben is a good athlete and will hopefully fulfil his potential. He is strong and has pace, and I’m confident he will establish himself next season and really kick on."
