Toby Brannan released as Joe Lowe heads out on loan

Following on from last weekend’s squad update, Rochdale Hornets can confirm that young forward Toby Brannan has been released from the remainder of his contract.

He departs the Crown Oil Arena after just under three years with the club. 

The young front-rower featured 22 times during the previous two campaigns but has seen his game time limited in 2025, making just four appearances in all competitions. 

Toby leaves with the very best wishes of everyone at the club. 

Meanwhile, versatile half-back Joe Lowe has left the club to join Whitehaven on loan for the remainder of the season. 

He joined the Hornets back in May but has yet to make a first team appearance. 

We wish Joe well as he looks to increase his game time in Betfred League 1 over the next few weeks.
