Rochdale Hornets are delighted to announce the signing of forward, Deane Meadows, who will join the club ahead of the 2024 season. Deane joins the club on the back of a successful season with Oldham last year.

Chairman, Andy Mazey, commented on the signing; “Deane was my last signing at Swinton Lions and it has been pleasing to see him progress the way he has done over the past four years. We are absolutely delighted to secure Deane’s services as he wasn’t short of interest elsewhere and was high on Gary's wish list as he builds an experienced and competitive pack for 2024. Anyone who knows Deane knows he will be brilliant for our environment and culture and will set standards in fitness testing and training. I know the Hornets fans will take to his no none-sense style and we look forward to welcoming him and the rest of the Meadow’s family to the club”

Deane added, "Signing a contract was a really easy decision for me for lots of reasons. Mainly what Rochdale are doing right now as a club is special, and I want to be a part of that. It just felt like the right move for me and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds now! I want to thank Andy and Gary for giving me the opportunity in 2024 hopefully we can be fighting at the top end of the table"
