Carl Halstead joins Rochdale Hornets Board of Directors

Rochdale Hornets is delighted to confirm Carl Halstead has accepted a unanimous invitation to join the Board of Directors of the Club.

Local businessman Carl, who is already a Rochdale Hornets fan, is the Managing Director of prominent club sponsors Aquatherm.

Speaking on the appointment, Rochdale Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “I’m delighted to announce Carl has accepted an invitation to become a Shareholding Director of Rochdale Hornets. 

“Carl has been extremely supportive of the board throughout my tenure as chairman, not only with sponsorship via his business, but also by being proactive in opening doors and utilising his executive box to engage new people with the club on match days. 

“He has been instrumental in supporting the clubs commercial efforts behind the scenes in recent times and shares our vision and passion for growing the club.

“Whilst the past few years have undoubtably been challenging, we have safeguarded and guided our club to a position of stability whilst implementing mechanisms for growth and future success. 

“IMG and the re-imagination of the sport is undoubtably bringing new interest in clubs at our level with potential and we are building a board and management structure at Hornets to ensure we are well placed to maximise all of our opportunities moving forward.”

Adding to Andy’s comments, Carl said: “As a passionate Rochdale Hornets fan, I was honoured when Andy invited me to join the board of directors of my hometown club. 

“As a sponsor I have always tried to be proactive in engaging others to support the club having seen first-hand the tremendous amount of hard work that goes on behind the scenes. 

“We need more people to get behind the club to ensure more investment into the team and to progress the club as whole.”
