HORNETS DRAW DEWSBURY RAMS IN THE THIRD ROUUND OF THE BETFRED CHALLENGE CUP

Rochdale Hornets will travel to fellow League 1 side Dewsbury Rams in the Third Round of the Challenge Cup.

The draw took place at the home of Featherstone Rovers - the highest ranked team in the competition - as every Championship side except Tolouse entered the cup. 

Gary Thornton's Hornets progressed to the Third Round on Sunday, after seeing off League 1 London Skolars 42-4 on our return to competitive action. 

Dave Hewitt scored 18 points - a try and seven goals - in a seven try win, as Will Cooke (x2), Joe Purcell, Ben O'Keefe, Lewis Else and Ben Killan all crossed. 

We will now travel to the Flair Stadium in the next round of the competition, to face Dewsbury Rams over the weekend of the 11 and 12 March. 

The West Yorkshire side, who were relegated from the Championship last season, saw off amateur side Ashton Bears 38-8 in Round Two.
