Hornets appoint Mike Grady as Assistant Coach

Rochdale Hornets is delighted to have appointed former North Wales head coach Mike Grady as assistant to Gary Thornton.

Grady, who has also been the head coach of South Wales Scorpions and assistant coach at Newcastle Thunder, joins Hornets for the remainder of the season as the club aim to win promotion to the Championship.

He said: “I’d like to thank Andy, Gary and the club for this opportunity until the end of the year. 

"I’m really looking forward to working with the staff and the players, going into the business end of the season. 

"I arrived the session before the Doncaster match and there was a real buzz about the place which was taken into the game, and I think you could see that in the performance - even though we weren't able to pick up a result.

"It’s a talented and exciting group that I’m really looking forward to being involved with.”

Grady will take to the Crown Oil Arena dugouts for the first time this Sunday, when Rochdale host Cornwall (1pm kick-off).
