Members Benefit Scheme

Hornets Rugby League is a supporters' co-operative. In other words a supporter owned Professional Rugby League Club.

Hornets Rugby League is a not for profit organization but it is operated in a profitable manner. All money raised through our activity is re-invested into the club thus providing services for members and carrying out community work.

Back in 1844 the Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioneers was formed under the Friendly Societies Acts of 1829 & 1834. These Societies were formed to provide members with financial aid or "Benefits".

Benefits & Co-operation

A supporters' co-operative Rugby League Club is not a usual "co-operative". Life in 2010 has changed unimaginably since 1844. However, Hornets is trying to uphold the "Rochdale Principles" on which all co-operatives are formed.

In the spirit of "co-operation" we are encouraging all our members to visit and shop in our local businesses. In exchange for this custom, local businesses are prepared to give members of Hornets Rugby League a "benefit". These benefits in the main provide discounts of up to 10% on products and services.

If being a member of Hornets Rugby League on its own is not enough for you we hope the possibility of receiving numerous benefits from local businesses will attract you to join. Through the "co-operation" of local businesses we attract a bigger membership.

To date we have 34 shops, restaurants and businesses signed up and happy to help support Hornets Rugby League. Many more are being approached, so watch this space.

To start receiving these benefits simply download an application form and join the team. When you receive your membership card all you need to do is show your card in the shops.
