Hornets RL community team attended the second festival of the Rochdale high school 13 a side programme last week, held at Firgrove playing fields, home of Junior club Milnrow Cobras.

11 teams took part, playing at u13s and u15s age groups. Across the two age groups there was some fantastic rugby on show, entertaining the large crowd of parents, teachers and spectators who had kindly given up their time to cheer the boys on.

Many of the games saw close results but after some bruising encounters St Cuthberts finished on top of both the u13s and u15s table. However all is still to play for as the teams endeavour to reach the schools cup finals when they play in the third and final festival round in April.

Schools participating included St Cuthberts, Cardinal Langley, Hollingworth, St annes academy, Beech House and Matthew Moss.
