Ainscough relishing Wolfpack test
Shaun Ainscough is looking forward to facing a tough Toronto Wolfpack
Ainscough joined the Horents in the off season from fellow Championship side Batley Bulldogs where he made nearly 100 appearances.
The 29 year old had previously played for Super League sides Wigan and Castleford and is looking forward to playing his first competitive game since May last year.
"I am loving my time at Rochdale the other lads are great," said Ainscough.
"It's a good atmosphere at training. Pre season has gone really well to say it’s pretty much a new team.
"I think we bonded well together and had some great sessions.
I'm just happy to be getting back into it after not playing a competitive game since late May."
The Wolfpack defeated Hornets in controversial circumstances last season when the two sides met at the Crown Oil Arena but this time Rochdale will be looking for revenge. The Wolfpack's aim this season will be promotion to Super League having missed out in the Million Pound Game last season losing to the London Broncos 4-2.
Ainscough knows that Sunday's clash will be a stern test and is hoping that they can compete on the field.
"They are almost a Super League side they have loads of talent and experienced players across the field," added Ainscough.
"Every one knows they are a quality outfit and we just have to turn up in the right frame of mind to try to compete set to set with them. It’s going to be a tough first game for our young side."
